Weight Loss and Diet Pills

Weight Loss With Hoodia Gordonii

I bet that you have seen the name everywhere. The appetite suppressant Hoodia Gordonii has been taking the world of weight loss by storm recently. In fact, it’s being touted as the new miracle weight loss pill. You can find Hoodia in so many different multivitamins and supplements nowadays.

You've probably heard all about the wonders of this seemingly miraculous diet pill. But, does Hoodia actually work? Will it actually help you lose weight? Does it really do what the pill manufacturers say?

As with a lot of other subjects relating to the human body and its physiology, the question of just how does Hoodia work is still being studied. Many scientists agree that it does work as an appetite suppressant. But what the actual mechanism is is still elusive.

The connection between a portion of the brain called the hypothalamus, Hoodia Gordonii and appetite was made by scientists at Brown University. The original users of Hoodia, the San of southern Africa, knew nothing about the affect that Hoodia had on the brain. They only knew that it alleviated their hunger and thirst.

Hoodia Gordonii is a cactus-like plant found in the Kalahari Desert of South Africa. The San tribe has been eating the Hoodia Gordonii plant for hundreds of years. Chiefly, it was used to reduce hunger pangs while on long hunting trips.

The San found that chewing just a small piece of the plant was enough to stave off hunger and reduce appetite. The beautiful thing about it is that it's all natural. And studies have found so far no deleterious side effects. With all that in mind it seems safe to say that Hoodia is able to take away hunger. As an added benefit it’s great for fighting the overweight problem.

The active molecule of Hoodia, P57, was discovered in the South-African national laboratory during some routine studies. The active P57 Hoodia molecule of this cactus makes your brain to believe that you’ve eaten enough and feel hunger no more. P57 is about 10,000 times more active that glucose. So when this molecule gets to your body, these hypothalamus brain cells feel this substance, which is more active then glucose, and signal the brain that you’re full.

Human testing has lead to a great success. During one study, some volunteers were placed in one particular group. Other volunteers were placed in a control group. The study group could only eat, read and watch television. One group of volunteers were taking Hoodia, another group was given what’s called a placebo. The result was that the Hoodia group lowered the calorie intake by 1000 each day.

Hoodia is an herbal supplement targeted to help you lose weight. Unfortunately, it cannot guarantee that everyone will lose weight. Everyone has a different physiology and differing habits. Therefore, while individual people may report success with Hoodia products, this does not scientifically demonstrate that it is indeed effective for everyone who takes it.

Hoodia works for some people and doesn't do a thing for others. The only way you will really know is to try it yourself. Fortunately, certified 100% authentic Hoodia Gordonii diet pills have been proven to be safe with no side effects. This means that the FDA has approved selling them in the US.

Like other popular supplements, Hoodia is in high demand. What some people do is look for companies that are offering free samples of the diet pills. Once you get your free samples, you can find out whether or not it works for you in particular.

Hoodia Gordonii has become so popular that you shouldn’t have any problems finding it. You can also buy Hoodia in liquid form. It is widely available online or in stores. Buying Hoodia can be quite a costly affair but some suppliers offer promotional free trials. That makes it much more affordable.

Buying Hoodia, whether online or at a store, is an absolute must if you are really interested in losing weight fast. Remember, Hoodia is a weight loss supplement that helps you lose weight with no side effects. If you can find free samples, go for it.
